<Sunday June 11> at 2½ p m <I introduced to the Congregation the Revd.> Mr. <Mr.> DeWolf <Wolfe,> a Clergyman of the Episcopal Church; & requested the attention of the Congregation in his behalf. who read the 6 chap of Hebrews, <who> & <he then> kneeled & prayed, dressed in his black robe <clerical> gown, which excited some curiosity among some of the Saints: who ha after the Choir sung a hymn, he preached from Hebrews 6 ch 1 & 2 v touching on such principles only, that are acknowledged & received by the Church, in his closing remarks he observed, “I may never meet you all again this side of the Eternal world, but I will appoint a meeting; i.e. when the Lord Jesus shall descend with his angels, to call the dead from their graves, & sit in Judgment on all the world.”

<June 12> at the morning & afternoon & approved of the Resolutions of a Court Martial of the to build an Arsenal passed June 10 1843 as follows “1st. resolved (see Neighbor <& copy> 30 & 31) Le Martial <Artillery>

<13> I started north, with & the children to see her Sister Mrs. Elizabeth Hale Wasson & family living near <Lee Co.>
¶. when going to the Prairie <with several brethren> to fence his five acre lot, broke the reach of his wagon, & all fell in a pile together; the wheel fell on his arm & bruised him considerably, but <he> was able to mend his wagon & continue his journey; after working hard all day, he went to bro. Cheney’s house to obtain a drink of water, when a ugly dog bit him thro the calf of his leg, which made him very lame.
