Wednesday 22— 1844 At home— The office[r]s after me from . watching.—
at 10 [a.m.] about 40 indians came up in f[r]ont of the — 4, or 5 mou[n]ted.— among whom was Blackhawks brother.— kiskishkee.— &c. I was obliged to send them word I could not see them at presnt. and th[e]y encamped in the coun[c]il chamber P.M— & night.— with the police on duty some individules— lurking arou[n]d.
