Sec. 16. In any Action or suit for any Offence against the provisions of this ordinance, the Defendant or Defendants may plead the general issue, & give the special matter in evidence.
Sec. 17. The recovery of said Penalties shall be no bar to a civil suit for Damages.
Sec. 18. The Municipal Court upon issuing a Writ of Habeas Corpus, may appoint any suitable Person to serve the same, other than the Marshal, & shall endorse the appointment on the back of said Writ.
Sec. 19. This Ordinance to take effect & be in force from & after its passage, any act heretofore to the contrary thereof in any wise notwithstanding.

The City Council of the City of , do hereby approve of the act of the , in drawing upon the City Treasury for a sum of fifty cents for a Block for a Seal for the Municipal Court, which sum was included in an order drawn upon the Treasury for $5,00, for a City Seal.

An Ordinance regulating the erection & removal of Slaughter Houses within the City of .
Sec. 1. Be it ordained by the city Council of the City of , that any establishment, House, or Houses, now [p. 129]
