Sec 2. And be it further ordained, that they are, and shall be further authorized to build a suitable pound to confine any beasts according to the requirements of said ordinances; and to do which they are and shall be authorized to use any money (not otherwise appropriated) which may be in the treasury; or they may use the credit of the to effect the said purpose.

William E. Horner was duly appointed inspector of flour as contemplated in “an ordinance concerning the Inspection of flour in the City of and for other purposes,” passed Sept 18th 1843,

William E. Horner took the oath of office as inspector of flour. in the and gave bond with surety according to the ordinance, at my office. in , October 31. 1843.

The City council, of the city of do hereby allow the following claims, to wit;
, for thirty days assessing and collecting taxes in 2d Ward. sixty dollars, — $60,00:
for 32½ days assessing. and collecting taxes, sixty five dollars, 3d Ward 65,00:
for 63 days services as Supervisor. 63,00:
for 9 days. as city watch. 13,50
for 32 nights as city watch. 48,00
carried over, 249,50
