Tuesday 4th.— At home. and proposed to give $10000. per month for the use of the “Maid of Iowa”, made out their own bonds with their own security; but I would not receive them.
In the afternoon I went out to my , and accidentally broke the whipple tree of my buggy.
Wrote the following letter <to , >:— “ (see file) Smith.”
The Municipal Court issued an against for $3626¼/100 for costs incurred on 8th May last.
At 6 P. M., I was in council with , , , , , and , on the propriety of prosecuting the Laws and Fosters for perjury, slander &c. Counseled to go on with a prosecution in behalf of I concluded to go to with , and give up my bonds of guardianship &c as administrator of the estate.

Wednesday 5th I went to the Prarie to show some land, and returned home towards night
At 8 P. M. I walked out with ; the lightning in the north was most beautiful. About 10 a shower of rain passed over with continual distant thunder; there has not been <any rain for some days back. Thermeter stood at 94½o. in the shade— very warm.>
