1844 Friday May 3rd. The following letter was written:— “, May 3rd. 1844.

Elder wrote from , Mass. as follows:— “Dear Brother Joseph, and Bror. , (copy on <from> File) already so. I remain as ever your friend and brother in the love of the truth, . , Mass. May 3rd. 1844.”
Saturday 4. Rode out on the prarie to sell some land. <the stone work for> four circular windows finished <cutting> for the Upper <middle> Story of the . moved into his new brick house.
A Court Martial was detailed as follows:— “Head Quarters (see file) , Major General Commanding.”
Sunday 5 At home. Instruct Rainy day. preached at the at 2 p.M. A large company of friends at my house afternoon and evening, whom I addressed on the true policy of this people in our intercourse with the national government.
6. Attended all day. Voted to send on a mission to , and to . was nominated as a Candidate for the Vice Presidency of the .
