The High Council and of Zion met in . July 6th 1838, to transact certain Church buisnes
laid before the Council the circumstances of his moving to , therefore he wished to sell his house to for President Joseph Smith jr— when it was,
1st Resolved— That the High Council instruct the to purchase ’s house for Prest J. Smith, jr.
2nd Resolved, That the be instructed to purchase a cook stove for Prest Joseph Smith jr.
3rd Resolved That the be instructed to prepare the house, aforesaid, and make it comfortable to dwell in.
Council adjourned.

Mo, Friday July 6th 1838.
The authorities of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, opened at this City to hold the Second Quarterly Conference, in this City of Zion and to transact Church buisness.
The Conference opened by singing “The Spirit of God like a fire is burning” and prayer by President , after which another hymn was sung, “Now let us rejoice in the day of Salvation”.
Presidents Joseph Smith jr. & , Presiding.
The Presidents of the different Quorums proceeded to organize their respective Quorums, as follows:
First the High Council.
Second the High Priests.
Third the Seventies by acting President, as the Presidents were absent.
Fourth the Elders by Ralph Cox, acting President in the absence of the President.
Fifth the and Council.
Sixth the Priests. [p. 150]
