<​18​> Thursday 18. 9 A. M. went into General Council until noon and introduced , , and added s’ name.
While at dinner I made mention of the report that , &c., were paying some ones board at my table so as to catch something—— against me,—— so that if the report is true they may have something to carry back.

Williams, , , , , , and held a council and unanimously cut off , , and of and Howard Smith of Scott Co. Illinois, from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for unchristianlike conduct and their names were published in the Times and Seasons.

Elders and attended a Conference and preached to the Saints in , where 26 Elders volunteered to go out preaching.
